Privacy Notice

How we handle personal data collected through this website: what we collect, why we are permitted to, who receives it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated 24 September 2026

01Who we are, and what this notice covers

Seefin Technology Ltd, trading as Kaitel, is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. We are established in Ireland. You can reach us about anything in this notice at hello@kaitel.ai.

This notice covers kaitel.ai and the people who use it: advisers and firms enquiring about Kaitel, readers of our research, and anyone who contacts us. Our services are intended for people acting in a professional capacity, not for consumers.

It does not cover the Kaitel product. Where an advice firm uses Kaitel, that firm is the controller of its own clients' personal data and we act as its processor under a separate written agreement, which governs that processing in full. Nothing in this notice varies that agreement.

02What we collect, why, and on what basis

We collect only what you give us and a little about how you reached us. We do not buy personal data, and we do not build profiles of you from other sources.

What we collectYour name, work email and firm, and — if you apply to the cohort — your role, the size of the firm, your country, your website and how your practice works today.
WhyTo assess your application or send you the research you asked for, and to reply to you personally.
Lawful basisLegitimate interests: you have asked us for something and we cannot answer without it.
What we collectThe page you submitted from, the site that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed.
WhyTo understand which of our work reaches advisers, so we do more of what is useful.
Lawful basisLegitimate interests: running and improving our own marketing.
What we collectYour browser's user-agent string, and a one-way digest of your IP address.
WhyTo keep the forms from being flooded. The digest cannot be turned back into an address.
Lawful basisLegitimate interests: protecting the site from abuse.
What we collectAnything you type into the live chat window, and the email address you give it.
WhyTo answer the question you asked, and to pick the conversation up again if it is interrupted.
Lawful basisConsent, given when you allow functional cookies.
What we collectIf you have not allowed analytics cookies: the pages you visit here and any campaign tags in the link you followed, counted without a cookie or anything else stored on your device.
WhyTo see which of our work reaches advisers, including those who decline cookies. A one-day code made from your IP address and browser details stands in for you, and it cannot be traced back to you.
Lawful basisLegitimate interests: understanding how our own site is used, without reading or storing anything on your device.
What we collectAnalytics and advertising identifiers set by cookies.
WhyTo measure how the site is read and whether our advertising reaches advisers.
Lawful basisConsent, given through the cookie panel and withdrawable at any time.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed our interest against your rights and concluded that the processing is what you would reasonably expect from an enquiry you began. You can object at any time — see section 7.

03Who receives it

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of suppliers who process data on our instructions and under contract, each seeing only what its function requires. The categories are:

CategoryInfrastructure and hosting providers
What they do for usRun the servers and storage this website and its forms depend on.
CategoryCommunications providers
What they do for usDeliver the email we send you, and the live chat window if you open it.
CategoryAnalytics and advertising partners
What they do for usMeasure how the site is used — including a product-analytics service hosted in the European Union that records page use with every form field masked — and whether our advertising reaches the right audience. Only where you have allowed it.
CategoryProfessional advisers
What they do for usOur lawyers, accountants and auditors, where they need it to advise us.
CategoryAcquirers and their advisers
What they do for usIf the business is ever sold or reorganised, as part of that transaction.
CategoryRegulators and law enforcement
What they do for usWhere we are required by law to provide it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Every supplier is bound by a written agreement meeting the requirements of Article 28 of the GDPR, is permitted to act only on our documented instructions, and may not use the data for its own purposes. A firm evaluating Kaitel can ask us for the specific list as part of its due diligence, and we will provide it.

04Where it is held

We host and process personal data in the European Economic Area wherever we can. Where a supplier processes data outside the EEA, we rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission, or on the Commission's standard contractual clauses together with an assessment of the safeguards in place in the destination country.

05How we protect it

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. Access is limited to the people who need it to do their work, and the site is served over encrypted connections.

No set of measures is completely effective, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify the Data Protection Commission and, where required, you.

06How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for.

  • Enquiries and applications — while we are considering them, and then for up to 24 months from our last contact, so we recognise you if you come back.
  • Research downloads — until you ask us to stop, or until you tell us the address is no longer in use.
  • Chat conversations — for up to 12 months, so we can pick up a thread.
  • Analytics data — in aggregate, which after a short period is no longer personal data at all.

You can ask us to delete your data sooner than any of the above, and we will. You do not have to give a reason.

07Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • be told what we hold about you, and be given a copy of it
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete
  • have it erased
  • restrict how we use it while a question about it is resolved
  • receive it, or have it sent onward, in a portable format
  • object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests
  • withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis — which does not affect what we did before you withdrew it

Email hello@kaitel.ai. There is no form and no fee, and we will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.

You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie, or to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work. We would rather you raised it with us first, but that is your choice, not a condition.

08Cookies and similar technologies

Nothing beyond the essentials is set until you accept. The site loads with those storage types switched off and stays that way unless you choose otherwise.

The bar at the foot of the page asks once, and offers Accept and Rejectside by side. Rejecting is one click, exactly like accepting, and it is what happens if you never answer.

  • Essential — remembering your cookie choice and keeping the forms working. These cannot be switched off, and they are the only ones set if you reject.
  • Functional — the live chat window, and a conversation surviving a page reload.
  • Analytics — which pages are read, so we know what is worth writing. This category also sets kaitel_vid, a random identifier in a first-party cookie that lets us recognise a returning visitor as the same person rather than a new one. It holds no name, email or anything else about you, it is set only after you accept, and it is deleted if you withdraw. This category also enables PostHog, a product analytics service hosted in the European Union, which records how pages are used so we can see where people get stuck. Every form field is masked before anything is recorded — what you type is never captured. If you reject, PostHog still counts your visit but sets nothing on your device: it works out a code on its own servers from your IP address and browser details, mixed with a random value that changes every day and is then deleted, so the code cannot be traced back to you or linked to another day. Nothing is recorded and no location is kept.
  • Advertising — whether the advisers we are trying to reach are the ones arriving.

Manage cookies in the footer brings the bar back on any page, so withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Your choice is stored in your browser and never leaves your device.

09Automated decisions, and children

We do not make decisions about you by automated means that produce legal effects or otherwise significantly affect you. A person reads every cohort application.

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

10Changes to this notice

If we change this notice we will change the date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you rather than rely on you re-reading it.
