File Note Pack

The File Note Pack turns your rough meeting notes into a draft file note, a client email and a list of what's still missing. It runs in your own ChatGPT account, so you set it up once and reuse it.

  1. Make a ChatGPT project

    Make sure the switch at the top says Chat, not Work. Hover over Projects in the left sidebar, select +, name it File Note Writer, choose Project-only memory, then select Create project.

  2. Paste the instructions

    Open the project's three-dot menu, then Project settings. Paste the text into Instructions; it saves as you type, so close with the ×.

  3. Add the two reference files

    In the project, open the Sources tab, then Add sources. Add both files.

  4. Paste your notes

    Click the box that says New chat in File Note Writer and paste your notes. Rough is fine, and use made-up or anonymised notes to start.

  5. Read what comes back

    You get a file note with Actions (owner, action, by when) and a Still missing list. Say Word and it builds the note as a Word document with your firm's name on it.

Copy the whole text into Copilot Chat, paste your notes underneath and send. Use your work account, so your firm's Microsoft data protection applies.
